Comments Thread For: Photos: Cleverly, Bellew Nearly Erupt in Confrontation

Tony Bellew and Nathan Cleverly remain on course for a rematch later this year after both men claimed impressive victories in Liverpool on Saturday evening - and then exchanged verbal barbs at ringside as the situation became very tense.

Bellew, topping the bill in his home city of Liverpool, inflicted a first stoppage defeat on Brazilian Julio Cesar Dos Santos. A left hand to the head sent Dos Santos to the canvas in the fifth round and, although the South American managed to beat the count, he remained unsteady on his feet and the fight was waved off. Cleverly could easily wind up bellew. He should play the mind games nd not engage.

God that was so staged and cringeworthy.

Bellew is just pure cringe. KOs a bum and screams like he's just won the world title.

And btw Eddie Hearn.....NO ONE CARES about this fight! Stop trying to make it relevant.

Bellew doesn't look in shape at Crusier.

He's terrible. Really and truly he is not very good at all.

Bellew is to 'WWF' for me. That whole 'hold me back' thing lastnight was cringeworthy.
I get that there is a bit of bad blood between them, but of late, it comes across as fake..like they're going for the Groves/Froch effect.

I'd like to see the rematch, but while they are both fighting low level opponents in dull fights..interest isn't high.

Bellew is actually tolerable in normal circumstances, he's a decent pundit.

It's just when he has a fight, he becomes intolerable
