LAS VEGAS – Canelo Alvarez won a close split-decision victory over Erislandy Lara in the SHOWTIME PPV main event in front a sold-out pro-Canelo crowd at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Judge Jerry Roth scored it 115-113 for Lara, Dave Moretti 115-113 for Canelo and Levi Martinez 117-111 for Canelo.

The Mexico vs. Cuba showdown was a classic boxer-puncher matchup with Mexican superstar Canelo as the powerful aggressor and Cuban sensation Lara the slick boxing southpaw. The 32-year-old Lara, who pressured Canelo into the dangerous bout via social media, was upset with the split decision.

Hahahahahahah almost all the photos are of canelo getting tagged on the face. Pretty much sums up the fight. Only photos that are missing are canelo missing wildly and hitting nothing but ropes.

Like I commented before There's no doubt this was a very close fight & some had it a small margin for Lara & others had it the same way for Canelo. That's not the problem, the problem is that in 3 of Canelos last 4 fights(Trout, Mayweather & now Lara) there's always a judge that see's what NO ONE ELSE SAW in Canelo's favor. Against Trout it was a very close fight yet Stanley Christoloudou had it 118-108(10 rounds to 2) for Canelo, Mayweather totally out boxed Canelo & CLEARLY won EVERY ROUND yet judge C.J. Ross had it 114-114(6 rounds a piece!) she retired after that(I guess to avoid an investigation) & this fight against Lara was also very close yet judge Levi Martinez had 117-111(9rounds to 3)for Canelo. It's like in fights of this magnitude someone is making sure that at least one judge REALLY FAVORS Canelo NO MATTER WHAT THE FIGHT IS LIKE! This is shady, very very SHADY.

Canelo simply embarrassed lara, made him look like he wanted out of the ring, made him look scared. It was pathetic

And i wanted lara to win because Canelo is too white to be mexican
