Meh, dictating what gloves are allowed to be used has been done for so long. It may seem a bit weak of Floyd to demand this but he certainly isn't the first to do so.

What was weak was not allowing Maidana to use them in the first fight even though such stipulation was NOT in the contract. He had to practically bribe Maidana not to wear them in the first fight. At least he had the decency to include it in the contract this time.

At this point I can't wait for Mayweather to retire. The guy is so gifted with talent, yet he always wants ridiculous advantages & is so insecure about himself. I bet after his contract is up, he'll still fight afterwards anyways since what else is he going to do with himself when he's retired? He loves the spotlight way too much so I'm predicting he'll still fight into his early-mid 40s.

              3. You're all a bunch of idiots.
Lol talk about idiots. Rarely used, if at all, anymore? You need to learn your gloves.

Actually, the bigger issue here is this rematch... Maidana's camp and other fans are complaining about gloves on the first fight and they stipulate that, that's main reason why they lost the fight.... Now, with this rematch, it only proves that its really the gloves that made Maidana loose coz Floyd making sure this time by a contract that Maidana cant use his punching gloves... unlike what Morales did to Pac, he tried to prove that its not about the gloves so he allow Pac to wear his punching gloves... see who's the warrior and a coward?

Why does Maidana need special gloves to beat Floyd? That's what I don't understand both guys wear the same gloves end of story. Floyd picks the gloves cause he brings the money period.

And also regardless of what anybody says if ANY fighter doesn't feel comfortable with the gloves his oppenet is using then he shouldn't be able to use them nobody else gets in ring nobody else has to fight or live with the side effects so really the only people who should care about the gloves are the fighters not the fans
Ok Floyd. Really TBE. The best excuses.

If the gloves don't matter why is Floyd making demands?

Yeah, I agree. This happens all the time in boxing. De La Hoya made Mayweather wear those Heavyweight Reyes gloves when they fought. Morales made Pac wear Winning gloves first time they fought. It's not a big deal as long as the fighter knows what kind of gloves he's going to be using in advanced. Throwing a hissy fit the night before the fight because "they ain't have no padding" and bribing Maidana was pretty bad, but putting it in the contract 2 months before the fight is ok as far as I'm concerned.
