After several days of negotiations between promoters Tony Holden and Gary Shaw, Jeff Lacy rejected Allan Green as his comeback opponent for October 7th. "Gary Shaw and I did everything possible to make this fight happen, we were getting it finalized, then Lacy decided he didn't want to fight Allan" said a disappointed Tony Holden

Four days ago Allan Green demolished former Contender star Anthony Bonsante and called out Jeff Lacy in an interview with ESPN. "To be honest, I expected it" said Allan Green. "Jeff Lacy had been protected his whole career until he fought Calzaghe. We all know what happened when he stepped up. So I guess he will go back to fighting bums again" "

With Lacy out of the picture Green is now entertaining an offer to face WBO Super-Middleweight Champion Joe Calzaghe in October. "I will take that fight in a second! I have to meet with my promoter first and look at the specifics, but I am all for it" said Green

Green (21-0), is one of boxing's top prospects after scoring the ESPN and Ring Magazine knockout of the year against Jaidon Codrington and has reeled off four consectuive knockout victories.

I missed that one I was reading all over yesterday that it was still good. whos he waiting for he needs to redeam himself but the top guys are taken and joe has a hurt hand maybe green that would be good or mundine. Andrada is a question but I think people are going to stay away from him he may become antoher marg. There is Bute but he is to smart to take the fight. Dawson to soon.

Calzaghe has looked a shadow of his former self in his last three fights and by all reports is currently weighing about 175. He'll be weight-drained, as he has been for years. Calzaghe's there for the taking more so than any champion in boxing.
Ha you had to eat your words didnt you? Prick! And whats this all about everyone from England hates him cos he's Welsh? You really do talk ****! Hardcore fans dont care about this predjudice of other countrys!

Calzaghe - what a fighter. And I'm English and I think he's ****ing quality. I was there, it was one of the best night's of my life. Now I'm off to watch Woods vs Johnson III. I hope Clinton can get the win so that it might set up Calzaghe vs Woods. Whilst it may not be as big a fight worldwide as Calzaghe vs Johnson, it's gonna be much bigger over here and a real quality fight. And to be fair, Calzaghe vs Johnson probably isn't gonna be that big worldwide anyway.

If you've been on Showtime for 10 years, you're probably not all that great. This is Lacy's biggest and best opportunity to be a superstar in the sport, however he would need to KO Taylor or Tarver to be a mainstream superstar like an Oscar De La Hoya or a Mike Tyson. He's gotta keep knocking people out and be dominant to be a crossover superstar.
Good post?? Moronic post. It doesn't take much insight to see one-dimensional Lacy is/was. Anybody with a modicum of intelligence would not have wet themselves over Lacy beating up a bunch of nobodies. I saw his 3 fights before Calzaghe schooled him and he just looked big, strong, and average. Throwing wild haymakers that could land on shot fighters like Robin Reid, but Calzaghe just laughed the whole way through the fight. I don't even like Calzaghe but he could've beaten with one hand behind his back. It's just a shame that he didn't up the pace at the end and send Lacy back in the same state Benn left McClellan.

Wearing an England shirt to try to win English fans over: unforgiveable. Got the punishment he deserved. Hopefully we don't have to see him again over here.

It wasn't important if he was Welsh or not. It was just important that he was beating up an American.

                      Lacy TKO1 is my prediction.

I'm putting £500 on Lacy to beat him in three rounds or less.
Sorry you lost the £500 Juy.
