Porter and Brook are fighting for the #1 spot to challenge Khan.

People only rate Porter because of more media time. What's he done? My mother could beat Paulie. I've seen both Porter & Brook fight in the flesh and I'm telling ya... this is as 50/50 as it gets.

Say anything, Malignaggi is old, but still not an easy fighter to beat, and Porter beat him very-very convincingly. But I think his win over Devon showed better how good is he. I really like Maidana, but Porter's win over Devon beat Maidana's whole resume in it's own. I mean that was nice, how good Maidana was against Floyd but he defeated even it was tight so it's hard to call a better resume than beating Devon. And can you say a single win in Maidana resume which is better than Porter W over Alexander? Alexander was top 10 in almost every opinion and very hard to look good against him, Porter did it at least the first half of the match. So only with the Devon win Porter's resume is better than Maidana's, Brook's, Thurman's (I think he has time and he's a big talent but his resume not as good yet).

To me, Devon's own resume isn't really all that fancy. Prior to Porter, he had three big names in his record (Bradley, Matthysse, and Maidana) and only looked good against one of them.

Porter got knocked out in the amateurs, has that Berto-like square on stance that makes him hittable, and has only looked like a beast in the Paulie fight. Saying that, Shawn DID look a beast in that one and although Kell Brook has looked impressive in flashes the fact is he's never met a top level fighter. This really could go either way and as long as neither guy pulls out it's a match I'm really looking forward to.

Malignaggi is made for Porter’s jump in style. Paulie is a decent technician but lacks the power to keep porter off. Likewise, Devon isn’t much of a puncher, so again Porter was able to apply pressure.

Porter is definitely a solid fighter, but he hasn’t faced someone with Brook’s skill/power. This is 50/50 and with 2:1 odds on Porter, I’ll bet on Brook to win.
