  • Comments Thread For: Porter's Trainer Says Brook Will Never Make it To Khan

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Kenny Porter, father and trainer of IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-0-1, 15KOs), expects an impressive victory over mandatory challenger Kell Brook (32-0, 22KOs). The Showtime televised fight is scheduled for August 16th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Brook, along with his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, are predicting a stoppage win. They believe Porter will be unable withstand the pressure for twelve rounds. They are so confident that a warning has already been issued to domestic rival Amir Khan, advising him that he won't be able to run once they claim the IBF title.

I wanna see Hearn's face after Brook get knock out by Porter or just lose easily by points. Oh wait... The domestic fights. I almost forgot that they're more important than the international ones, so it won't be a problem.

What the bloody hell doe's Amir Khan have to do with all of this? all said & done he's only #3 in the UK behind Kell Brook & Frankie Gaving @ 147Lb let alone anything else. This is just more hype that our sport really doesn't need!

Devon Alexander beats Paulie and Khan soooo ummm. No triangle theories just boxer tunnel vision and Porter beats Maidana. Just my opinion, not a psychic.

Porter isn't that great but he is knocking Brook out before round 6. I have no doubt about this.

Also, Khan @ #3 at 147lbs in Britain? He's clearly No. 1 and it isn't close.

People only rate Porter because of more media time. What's he done? My mother could beat Paulie. I've seen both Porter & Brook fight in the flesh and I'm telling ya... this is as 50/50 as it gets.

Ha! theirs a reason why sportsbooks have brook a 2 to 1 underdog.
but brook will get his world exposure here state side . which will make him go and stay in england for rest of career with statis.

LOL... like they've never got it wrong? With those odds you'd a fool to not put some money on Brook. Kell is the toughest challenge Porter has faced professionally, and vice versa. Porter's stronger on the inside, Brook wins at range. I don't think Porter will be able to make this an inside fight though.
