If your punches aren't landing and your opponent lands more than you - why should you get the win?
That being said it created the illusion of a close fight (which it was close), but people need to realize that is usually how it works for Floyd. If you aint knock'n him out by RD6, you better hang em up, because FMJ has you all figured out. In turn, with it being a "close fight" it has now created a hunger for $$$rematch$$$ It now has the posibility of monetarily surpassing the Canelo fight. The only thing is this: How does Maidana improve on his technique? He surely won't outbox FMJ. Throw more punches? No. He has to reinvent himself to be more accurate and I doubt that will happen in the short amount of time between the two fights.
It is boxing though, so anything can happen; but I truly believe it will be a whitewash this time around. FMJ UD (shutout).
Because on NSB humping your opponent around the ring while repeatedly missing wildly qualifies as effective aggression. That and the same posters who cry and cry about "you have to beat the champ to be the champ" will give rounds against Mayweather for landing two punches out of 80.

The only thing I hope is if Maidana wants to fight dirty Mayweather should get dirty with his elbows. Thats if Mayweather decides to fight on the inside

Bro the only active fighters that "casual fans" know are Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, Hopkins and now they're just getting to know Canelo. They didn't know who Ortiz, Guerrero or Maidana was either. As a fan I'd buy Mayweather vs Thurman and I'd recommend all my friends who are "casual fans" do the same, but I won't buy this rematch and I can't recommend any of my friends to spend $70 bucks when Floyd already won the first fight clearly IMO and will beat Maidana even easier by actually fighting HIS fight this time, not to mention making sure that he has a new reff that's not going to allow maidana to use the same type of wrestling and dirty boxing tactics that he used in the first fight. Maidana had his shot and lost, time for something new.

My point exactly.... The "casual fans" makes up the bigger pot of money. The hardcore fans will buy reguardless

I agree Mayweather won this fight clearly. I dont know what the judges saw 114-114, but who else can he fight that has a household that works with GBP?

or they'll do what beercules has been doing. SInce the fight ended (which he allegedly wasn't going to watch) he gave Maidana the fight or at worse a draw. The rematch is signed-and he says floyd won 8-4.

The best available option would be Keith Thurman.. I believe that fight would sell just fine being that the kid is an exciting young American fighter that can box or brawl, has good hand speed and K.O. power in both hands. Plus most "casual fans" seek the advice of the more hardcore boxing fans before deciding whether or not to buy a fight. I think Mayweather vs Thurman would do over a Million views in September, but I doubt this rematch will.

It will be the first rematch of Mayweather's career since he fought Jose Luis Castillo on two occasions in 2002.

On May 3rd, at the same Las Vegas venue, Mayweather unified the WBC/WBA belts with a twelve round majority decision. Maidana gave Mayweather a much tougher fight than anyone had expected.

Whereas other unintelligent ****** thugs will publicly bash another fellow athlete and fellow "businessman" (I don't consider the duck a businessman, he's to ****** to be one, more like a man with natural boxing talent at the right place and the right time, with the right people around him) only to come back like a dog between his tail
He could not be emulating ODLH because ODLH didn't do what Floyd is doing. If ODLH was a great businessman, he would've known how many fighters were signed to contracts with GBP. B-Hop says ODLH was coming to meetings once or twice a year. ODLH is reaching out to Arum, and that's a nice gesture, but I don't see Arum reciprocating. Would you consider Don King and Bob Arum thugs?

Well, we know most of the boxing communtity buys the PPV either to see Mayweather win or lose. Most times to see him lose. You smoking something if you think Mayweather/Thurman will do a Million buys right now.... I would believe you more if you said Mayweather/Pacman

I think this rematch has a lot of build up just b/c of how competitive their first fight was. Maidana/ Mayweather did 800,000 buys? So Im assuming they can do better
