Comments Thread For: BoxingScene's Ratings Update: Cotto, Algieri, More

Cruiserweight: Youri Kalenga, off the strength of his split decision win over previously Mateusz Masternak, enters the top ten.

Middleweight: Miguel Cotto assumes the championship mantle while Sergio Martinez slips to the number three slot. It remains to be seen if Martinez will fight again.

Jr. Middleweight: Miguel Cotto exits the top ten. In at the ten slot is James Kirkland though his struggle to stay active might make him a placeholder.

Welterweight: Devon Alexander and Robert Guerrero switch places off their most recent performances on the same card.

Mosley had destroyed Antonio Margarito in his previous fight.

The same Margarito who was carrying two lineages: the IBF from when he beat Kermit Cintron (Marg vacated this belt without ever losing it in the ring) and the WBA from when he beat Miguel Cotto.

Ring was wrong and are hardly the sole arbiter. Cyber Boxing Zone recognized Mosley as lineal after Marg.

But if you want to use Ring, who is their Welter champ now?

Floyd is the Lineal because The Ring did the same **** last time. Floyd beat Hernandez for the lineal 130, but Corrales was the #1 at 130 in 01, explain that?

Ring didn't recognize lineage around the Gio fight and his lineal claim was based on other observations stemming to Nelson. Ring just rated different then. Had some form of their current policy been in place when May fought CorrAles, that 1-2 fight would have been belted.

I just checked The Ring annual rankings, Pacquiao and Floyd would not have been The Lineal by looking at the Ring in there First weight Classes because it says Vacant Title so i guess your right in that The Ring didn't recognize lineage back then. But, i think most people and websites use Cyberboxing anyway and if people wanna use The Ring, Floyd is the recognized champ at 147 and 154 according to The Ring now.

He knocked out the defending middle champ. Not sure what the confusion is.
