    My Prediction Video

My prediction with an animated slideshow. My commentary and animation needs work though. I was going to post this in the master thread but I figured it would be lost in the shuffle.

So everything has been taken from one common opponent.

I still can not understand why so much stock has been put into this one fight.
What about the other shared opponent; Trout, whose style is actually somewhat reminiscent of Lara's?

    Canelo can't fight like Angulo.
Its not his style and if he does turn into a brawler then he will gas out even quicker than usual.

He can not cut a ring off like Angulo, his style isn't to walk through hell to land one shot.
I really do not see why so many are looking into this one fight like you can actually take anything from it let alone what so many have.
IMHO they are reaching, clutching at straws and trying to simply make a case for who they want too win.

They're not looking at styles, they're looking for a glimmer of a weakness and assuming, praying that Canelo can replicate a style he isn't versed in.
He has spent 15+ years learning a style that isn't to apply pressure.
Angulo has spent 20 years pressuring opponents and implying his physical strength and advantages.

Both guys like to box and counterpunch.
Canelo can fight aggressive but most of the time he is static or actually backing up.

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Lara take center of the ring.

Good points. I don't expect Canelo to do a great job pressuring Lara the same way Angulo did. But I still feel that Canelo will do enough to win on the judges' scorecards. Lara can outbox Canelo with movement but I have a feeling he would get robbed even if he did.

If Canelo decides to sit back and box Lara, and both take the center of the ring, Lara will school Canelo. I doubt Canelo will do that for the whole fight.

                great post.

the predictions for this fight is a great case of selective bias

at least Erislandy and Trout, who Saul struggled with, share the stylistic label of outfighters. yet no one talks about how Saul struggled like hell with Trout

people want to believe Saul fights like Alfredo
