During a media interview in May, Floyd stated that Schaefer's potential departure would signal the end of his working relationship with Golden Boy. The two were close friends and it was hard for him to imagine working with the company without Schaefer being involved.

Plans hasn't been put in motion yet as to how the two companies are going to collaborate efforts. These sort of things take time. It's not as simple as just throwing fighters in the ring. Oscar getting his company back is one step, understanding the operational sides of things is another and actually going outside the company to co-promote is another step. And for those shaking their head that Oscar's gotta be dumb for working with Floyd, NO, u need to shake your damn head the other way around. Floyd is the one that needs the pity. Highest paid fighter, popularity and all who can't even promote his own fight at this stage. Where else is Floyd going to go when he has no promoter's license and despite his bluff about not working with Oscar, he realizes he has no where else to go but to crawl back to Golden boy to help put a credible promotion together. As far as am concerned, Oscar is the winner here. He's getting a sizable fee off Floyd's fight, he 'll still talk shi.t about him and he still gets to work with Arum whenever he gets ready to.
Couldn't have said it any better.

its mostly the dumb Fraudatics trying to down play the fact the fraud yet again Lied "when Snakefer leaves goldenboy i leave goldenboy" .. everything you said is on point the only thing you could have included was Oscar getting rid of the people he got rid of for this exact reason to work with any and every company why would he break ties with Gayweather that would be going against everything hes trying to do

Forum ******s want to condemn and criticize, when in their tiny world that little 30-40K before taxes is all they're familiar with ODLH\Floyd are talking tens of millions of dollars and in their business, that dollar rules the negotiation and take precedence over petty squabbles.
exactly. the 2 of them hate each other but make a lot of money together. ODH can't afford not to work with floyd and floyd doesn't have the staff resources with experience to do what GBP does for him.

This is a case of necessity makes for strange bedfellows. Oscar needs Floyd to keep the golden boy brand name out there, to make it seem as if they are still strong. Floyd needs golden boy because they officially have the MGM on reserve that day for him and he wants to keep that relationship / site fee strong, as well as not having much time for finding another comparable venue. It is an age old case of It's cheaper to keep her for both sides.
