Clearly he has gotten better under Garcia. More likely, he was "up" for this fight becaue it was his chance at greatness.

Given what he did against floyd, he clearly isn't as limited as I thought but I am not prepared to say he isn't a bralwer/pucnher. If he can control the middle and counter floyd like he did last time then I may have to change my opinion.
i don't have any issue with that. that's what he is. although, saying "face first" and or "one dimensional" implies he's on ruslan provodnikov or brandon rios' level, which he clearly isn't. i've never seen maidana looked ****ed up beyond recognition after a fight so, he must be doing something right defensively. his offense is craftier than what he's given credit for aswell. maidana's timing is underrated. if he is such a slow puncher, how the hell is he catching all these guys?

Yeah hes a face first brawler...but yet magically after all his fights he never seems to have any swelling, bruising, cuts, etc.

Are we going to pretend Maidana-Provodnikov is anything other than a 50-50 fight?

There's nothing special about Maidana, but you don't need to be special to take Floyd to the ropes and go to work, just need an impartial ref who will allow it.

Maidana is a brawler with good feet, good power, horrendously sloppy boxing

Are you being serious right now?

There are special things about Maidana, and Maidana vs Ruslan would be a great action packed fight, but it's far from a 50/50 fight.

According to the floyd minions, this guy was supposed to be gattied.

Now Floyd needs another fight with this guy to prove he is easy work.

              Lol

                    should have been a lesson.!!!!!

it was easy to separate real boxing fans from floyd haters and floyd lovers in the buildup to the first fight!!! u mean to tell me u going out of ur way to not watch a maidana fight? foh!!

his strict haters and lovers were one in the same. they fed off each other.

and all for one cause: disrespecting maidana.

                    disgusting!

Maidana is still a face first brawler loool what do you think he is now? Some kind of offensive genius ala Manny/young Tyson/Liston?

Come on now, yes he fights with a few more brain cells these days, his jab and left hook to the body has improved but his style remains the same, pressure, pressure, pressure, hop to hurt the other guy, pressure, pressure etc

But there ain't nothing wrong with that, Floyd has consistently struggled with pressure fighters.
