I was one of them saying he was one-dimensional and was a face first brawler. Was so happy to be dead wrong.
Remember when these cats were saying Maidana is a face first one dimensional brawler?

I tend to agree with this, to an extent at least.
Maidana is a good, tough fighter but he's still what he's always been.
Okay, he jabs a bit more and a bit better, he started to move his head a bit more, but that's about it.
He won't ever win a fight by boxing or by countering.
He can stand his own on the inside but he's not a Joe Frazier and his fouling gets excessive imo. I wouldn't say he's completely monodimensional, but he surely is a brawler first and foremost.
Some people here make it sound as he was 'outboxing ' Mayweather.Comment

Look at Maidana slip all those punches from Floyd!! Just goes to show you how biased Showtime and HBO can be, don't be misled people, Maidana was making him miss often was was hitting him almost at will when in range.Comment

I think Floyd took the fight knowing that he knows what to expect from Maidana in the rematch. It's not like Maidana can completely reinvent himself, he is who he is. I expect Floyd to dominate in the rematch.
I'm a big Maidana fan too. Glad he's finally gotten the respect he deserves because he's a fantastic brawler.Comment

Maidana can also adjust, it has yet to be seen if Floyd can truly stop his onslaught, Maidana will come in well conditioned.I think Floyd took the fight knowing that he knows what to expect from Maidana in the rematch.
