I guess GBP gave back all the fees Floyd paid them for his last 3 fights huh? You have no idea how promoters work
GBP gets their money from somewhere else. Not the fighters. They already told you this.

No wonder Mares wants to sign with Al he's getting paid 400k to fight. Meanwhile Russell Jr gets paid more than Mares while Mares has a way better resume smh.

Russell Jr. was paid more only because it went to a purse bid.

He only got that much because he had to split it with Loma

before that, Loma made more in his first fight than GR Jr did in his whole career

How much does a fighter earn after taxes, promoter, manager, sanctioning fees, coaches, training camp costs etc? How much of that $1m will Lara actually keep?

Yeah but what can you do about it aside from voice your displeasure with the amount that they are getting? Have you donated to any world champions that are flat broke?

I care about the fighters but what they make is on them. I think it's nice to see when a fighter you care about gets a payday you feel they deserve due to the hard work they put in coupled with fighting the best out there, but that's one of the only reasons I see for it.

                Just my 2 cents
This seems like it benefits other boxers moreso then the fans.

And taxes are always calculated on the net, not the gross. The tax would be calculated last, after the manager and trainer have already been paid.......

I know it was because of a purse bid but still. I wanna thank Al Haymon sweepstakes they new the rules going into that purse bid going in.

The reason fighters like Haymon is because he only takes 10%. I read it somewhere, I believe it was that Houser article but the guy doesn't take that much of a cut. Also, BigPoppaPump stated in the comment thread that when you make big money (I figure millions) the rate goes down even further; 1-2% he said for guys like May, Pac, Cotto.
