I remember Floyd emphasizing during the pre-fight build up all week prior to the match about him not moving, but being right in front of Maidana and that he is not going to fight like he did against Guerrero and Canelo. I can not doubt his words if he been saying it for a week and didn't fight anyway at all how he fought Canelo and Guerrero. He warned before the fight that he wasn't going to do that while everyone expected him to go out there and move gracefully outboxing Maidana like he did in his 2013 bout.

Now once again after the fight Mayweather warns if everyone wants to see a rematch it's going to be a totally different fight. Gloves doesn't matter.. Maidana can not hurt him or do any better than he did last time and Floyd dances around him and counter punches it's no way Maidana wins and people are going to say fixed fight.

I think Maidana has a great chance for several reasons and I'm curious to see how an old Floyd looks turning around and fighting so soon after a fairly grueling encounter.

I really, really don't think it's as simple as Floyd choosing not to be on the ropes. Maidana made him the first time, and will make him in the rematch. It's not like it's hard to get Floyd there, it's hard to keep him there. Maidana can and will again.

Maidana did a few things right in the first fight that had nothing to do with any tactical decision on Mayweather's part.

I'd say Maidana has a little better chance this time around, he actually has been in the ring with Floyd already giving him the chance to have seen his speed and defense and offensive tendencies. That works the other way also.
IMO Like JMM he should work on taking advantage of a opening that Floyd has that almost landed in the first fight. The problem is Floyd's ring IQ is so high, once he sees Maidana is trying to counter that opening I'm sure he'll stop.

This reminds me of post fight Cotto, everyone said Floyd legs were gone and coupled with time in prison, he will not look good in his next bout. Then he washes Guerrero in artistic, dominant fashion, using the most beautiful display of footwork seen in a while. This is where everyone starts saying it was due to Guerrero being scared to throw. Then he washes Canelo the same way at a higher weight class and mixes in more counters.

Now here we go again, Floyd said pre-fight he was not going to move in the fight, he didn't and people say he has no legs, Maidana made him fight that way(without landing much). Can wait to see the results and the rematch post fight of the undeserved rematch. Public perception of the casual is a strong influence of match ups. Shows the viewer usually have brains of mush *****.

It helped that he didn't fight Cotto again. Guerrero and Alvarez aren't Cotto. They don't fight like he does.

If he simply dances around Maidana in the rematch, then Floyd will be proven right that he chose to fight that way.

Helped? Did you miss the championship rounds of the Cotto fight my good sir? Mayweather figured out Cotto defensive flaws and Bohemia his guard opens up with a right hook, or feint straight right left uppercut. Cotto was very close to bing stopped in that last round, if Mayweather would had not been dancing and went for the combinations then I don't think there be talk about seeing that fight again.

I think Mayweather will since he promised the fight will be very different. He was building up the fight the same way before it even went down. He said months before and even week of the fight, he's fighting Maidana up close.

Once Floyd went to the middle of the ring he took over
