How is Algieri more relevant when Khan himself was mentioned as a candidate for Pac?Algieri isn't a great option
But him beating Provo is better than anything Kahn has done since what...2010 when he beat Maidana?
So in 2014 - Algieri is more relevant than Kahn. Kahn has one other good win in his career, and that was Kotelnik, back in what 09? Kahn in 2014 is a barely recognizable name with a shattered chin. At least Algieri is new...with tassles
Khan was co-main event on a Floyd Mayweather PPV in "2014", but Algieri winning a title from Provo a guy who basically wants people to just stand in front of him is bigger than that? I like Provo, but seriously whom did Provo ever beat again?
Funny, you forgot to even bring up Collazo and go back to 2010. Sure the fight didn't have a title, but it doesn't mean the win isn't relevant. Collazo was a guy who was supposed to KO Khan in to next week, but now that Khan decimated him Collazo is now all of a sudden a bum.Last edited by Box-Office; 07-09-2014, 08:17 AM.Comment

Why? Provo has a win over Alvarado, who looked like he'd just come out of training camp at auschwitz at the weigh-in.
No doubt Provo is a good fighter - but his resume is not nearly as good as many of the people Khan has fought and beaten.Comment

nobody gives a **** about khan....nobody is ducking his sorry ass. He is a bum.I don't want to be that guy, and I don't think many fighters duck other fighters, but at this point no one can deny that either Manny Pacquiao and/or Freddie Roach is ducking a fight with Amir Khan.
Amir Khan has stated numerous times he wants the fight. De La Hoya offered it to Khan and wanted to make it, Arum said he was interested, only person that said he didn't want the fight was Roach and it looks like it won't happen.
I think Pacquiao would beat Khan but Khan was the best possible opponent out there for him. Most people were interested in seeing this fight happen. The date worked out perfectly for both and Pacquiao goes off and chooses to fighter Algieri. This makes it blatantly obvious that Roach is afraid to put Pacquiao in the ring with Khan at this point, no doubt about it.Comment

if memory serves, khan was part of the selection process floyd asked his fans to take a vote on.....and the fans chose khan.....and floyd did not fight khan; and as per your post below...I've never claimed nor do I think Floyd is ducking Khan. Floyd didn't fight Khan in May because it was hard to justify that fight and to sell it during the lead up to the fight. Maidana was coming off of a huge win and was easier to market. Stop putting words I never said into my mouth or grouping me with other posters that i don't agree with.
With that being said, Pacman is ducking Khan. Period.
"Floyd didn't fight Khan in May because it was hard to justify that fight and to sell it during the lead up to the fight."
see where i am going? the fans wanted the floyd khan fight as is clearly established by the fans vote...the fans are the ones who will buy the tickets and ppv.....
so what's the problem on selling the fight...
the crux of the matter is floyd is also the king of flip flop...
floyd is his own boss...as he says tie and again....
pac is not his own boss as floyd loves to point out....
again, do you see where i am going...
pac has his boss to select his opponent...so why accuse pac of duckingComment

Kahn has literally talked his way into the big leagues. Has been brutally destroyed numerous times. Hasn't won a meaningful fight in several years - but yaps yaps away into the forefront of people's mind and to believing that his average self is the best opponent for Mayweather and Pacquiao.
I gotta say - it's impressive
When has Khan been brutally destroyed numerous times? I can only think of Garcia and Presscot loss is irrelevant now.
Its Pacquaio who's been Put to Sleep numerous times and KTFO in worse fashion than any other boxer in the history of the Sport.Comment
