Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Mayweather, Trout Bouts Prepared Canelo

When Canelo Alvarez steps in the ring on Saturday night he will have faced Austin Trout, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Alfredo Angulo and Erislandy Lara in succession. That is quite an impressive run for the 23-year-old Jalisciense.

Golden Boy President Oscar De La Hoya feels that Canelo's fights against Trout and Mayweather in particular have prepared him for the challenge that Lara presents. Trout is a southpaw like Lara and Mayweather is the pound-for-pound king who many feel has the best defense in the sport today.

Mayweather, Trout bouts like the Lara bout will prepare the matchmakers at Golden Boy to keep Canelo away from boxers who actually don't just come forward in a straight line...

All Canelo leanred from in the Trout and Mayweather fights were that he gases even worse against guys who use the ring... Lara will be no different...

The Canelo hype train gets derailed and then uses the weight as an excuse and Canelo starts over fighting one-dimensional guys at 160... Canelo fanboys will say "Canelo would have beaten Lara and Mayweather at 160..."

Oscar's been really heavy handed with his name brand lately for this fight, what would happen if this fight isn't the blockbuster he needs it to be?

He's only ****ing 23. He's not even in his ****ing prime yet. He's not the best fighter he can possibly be yet. He still has a few more years. He's already going 12 rounds right fighters. All that **** you all ***** about will come in the next few years for him, if he's serious about boxing.

            **** is insane, he's still a kid.

Just a heads up fellas, this person has NEVER said anything good about Canelo. Not even half way decent. He's a bum, lazy, fat, hyped, tomato can according to this guy. He jus regurgitates the same negativity about Canelo from thread to thread. Take it all with a grain of salt.
