Golden Boy had dibs on those dates at the MGM, Shaefer confirmed this in May, so what Oscar wants will happen. If they make Cotto/Canelo Showtime ain't passing that up on Cinco de Mayo to feature Floyd vs khan or any other Haymon guy. Arum almost put Chavez Jr. on Mexican Independance day and still might bc there really isn't that much interest in the Maidana rematch.

Lets say Canelo did use Oscar to get dibs on the MGM grand for argument sake. And lets say Canelo and Cotto do fight next year on May 3rd. I think if Floyd wanted to fight back he could put Canelo and Oscar to SHAME.

#1 Floyd has people bidding for him to come to their area and fight. Barclyas, Madison Square, London, hell they even want him to fight in Africa. Floyd generates 100s Of millions of dollars when he fights every year in MGM grand. People want his business. Hell, when he was about to go to prison his sentence was pushed back so that he could fight pacquiao in mgm grand and generate money! (Although pacquiao ran)

#2 Neither Canelo nor Cotto draw as much as Floyd. Canelo vs Angulo did 300-400 thousand. Cotto vs Sergio Martinez didn't even do big numbers on Puerto Rican day weekend! Together them + mexican independence day. The most they could hit it about 1 million, and i think it would be less.

#3 Golden is boy is going through some problems right now. Their top men left and all of the stars that we thought were a part of golden boy actually are NOT. All oscar has is canelo.
