That is the worst example you could have used consider Kovalev was supposed to fight Stevenson who joined Haymon and straight up ducked Kovalev. Stevenson, Haymon and everyone else involved with that is getting sued by Kovavlevs promoter, now go away.

I hate the current boxing models. There are no real champions anymore. We have to resort to magazine editorials and start-up websites made up of writers such as Transnational Boxing Rating Board to manufacture a champion.

Say what you want about UFC - but I always know who the champion is at any given time at any given weight class. More often than not, the Champ is fighting someone within the top five of his division, usually within top three.

They're growing and currently facing contractions. I think mainly with having monthly PPV which forces people to pick and choose which cards to buy. But I think that will sort itself out. I can watch UFC on Fox TV. Currently, alot of their stars are retiring or have fallen off, so they need some new talent, but at least they're trying.

And they've built a legit p4p female star who can carry a show - when has boxing ever had that. Even L. Ali was nothing but a blip on the bottom of ESPN. Rousey, if she was a man would trample over the competition, so I firmly believe she's p4p.

They're still in their infancy and growing and experimenting. Boxing has resorted to what is essentially political divides with various fractions. Managers, promoters, sanctioning bodies, networks. It's all a ****** mess.

And to the poster who singled out Kovalev and Crawford as getting a shot being from no-where. That's such horse-*******. Plenty of fighters of UFC have been given title shots of which they earned in the ring.

I mean the most recent one - TJ Dillashaw. Ranked I believe #3 in the division was given an opportunity to fight for the title, against who was/is arguably the best fighter in the world, p4p. By far, even considering Jon Jones was the most dominant champion in the UFC. Renan Barao was truly the elite of the elite. TJ got his shot which he earned. And he anally brutalized a guy who hasn't lost in a decade.

So that argument is flawed. UFC is attempting to find talent the world over.

Boxing needs a dramatic overhaul to regain legitimacy. It doesn't have to be a single guy like Dana - maybe a governing body with perhaps a commish and a board of directors who make rankings and such. Boxing is just a wild-west. Five "world" sanctioning bodies -with their own rules which they interpret, ignore or create to fit an agenda. It's a mess. I hate this system - but I love boxing so I take the abuse, but I've been finished giving money to these PPVs that have become a joke and continuing to feed into this system

Wouldn't be better from the fighters point of view, because they wouldn't make as much money.

What boxing needs is not a promotional monopoly, but someone in govt to step in and make sure to regulate the corruption in boxing.

Like a boxing Czar. An outside force to regulate these corrupt ass.holes.

First off, it's never going to happen and if it did it would be bad for the sport.

why do you think they would be underpaid? who in the footballing world in underpaid? or in basketball? cricket?

basketball and football have unions so they wont get under paid i dont think the ufc has one.

The reason nfl is because they have a guy at the top above all other who can fine players and owners one promtional company is not good they would give ou the fight they want and you would have no choice but to accept.

What boixng need is one govering body to over see all of boxing ot one in every state that have diffrents rules.
one champ per divison and you have to fight the number contender.
