Former WBO/WBA flyweight champion Brian Viloria is in great condition for his clash with Mexico’s Jose Alfredo Zuniga at the plush Cotai Arena of the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino in Macau on July 19.

Celebrated trainer Freddie Roach’s talented Filipino assistant Marvin Somodio told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard that Viloria has been training hard and his “preparation for the fight has been very good.”

This is a good example of the waste in a big stable. Viloria is a big name, but since he lost last time out, Roach and Somodio are too busy to work his corner now. It sounds like he will have the third string, temporary teacher, new hire working his corner. Somebody always gets neglected in a big stable, not enough equipment, not enough sparring, not enough corner men, on and on. Freddie is good, but he can't split himself or care for all the fighters he has.
