I don't think 147 is going to be a good look for Rios. I know he had to cheat to make weight against Manny, but he wasn't that impressive against Alvarado. When you're best trait is that you can take a punch, you're probably not going to win a championship fight. Rios is becoming the Top Rank version of Jesus Soto-Karass.

HBO putting pressure on that Garcia gym to put their fighters with real competition. They where right with trying to force Mikey to fight Gamboa, but Rios deserves a break is not like he has defense his defense is his face if anybody deserves a soft touch fight especially after the loss he took would be this guy.

once hershman took over at hbo, one of his goals was to rebuild the brand. a lot of people forget that greenburg almost sank hbo boxing with his sweet heart deals with haymon and schaefer. anybody remember all the appearance fights they were overing paying for?

as fans we have the power. instead of being fanboys or just sheep, don't watch appearance fights. haymon only does it because people will watch them. why risk the investment when you don't have to.

May have exaggerated a bit, but yeah I agree Chavez is no slickster and is not on Abril's level skills wise, but the key point is that Rios is plain horrible and his best win was Mike Alvarado whose best win was Brandon Rios lol. Chaves has both decent skill and great will, where as Rios only has the latter.

I see it as a 8-4 Chaves decision.

i enjoy his fights tbh, this one should be a really good one, both guys can punch, rios can take a punch (i think a lot better than chaves) and chaves can box a little.

Lol.... thats a direct insult shot at danny garcia! Hopefully if he wins(which is not certain in my eyes) i'd like to see them mix it up...and with the way things have been between gbp and tr i believe this fight has a good possibility of being made!
