    trout was a top contender.

mayweather was arguably the best fighter on the planet.

and what is your guy, exactly? a cupcake? i don't think so.

angulo was an easy touch, granted, but the kid was coming off of a loss and he did what he was supposed to do. he put a hell of a beating on angulo, and your guy went life and death with him.

i have no issues with some trash talk, but let's not act like canelo isn't on one of the more challenging runs in boxing right now.

Why is everyone so hung up on the past as if every fighter fought nothing but top contenders coming up. He could continue this pace of fighting top contenders for another six fights and people would still need to bring up Hatton, Lopez, Cotto. It's no coincidence once he started gaining control of his career the bs opponents stopped.

He could beat Lara on Saturday, yeah but who did he fight before that??

True. Detractors or haters in many cases normally look for everything and even if that happened long time ago they still can bring it as something recent.
Smart people should judge based on fight to fight basis and not bringing what occurred long time ago.

40 fights, how many Lara has as an amateur? remind me again, over 200? with no amateur experience learning as it goes along, it is ok with me, to fight the Mosleys, Cintrons of the world because thats what it was a learning experience. the real bad thing would be to continue to to fight those type of fighter at this stage of his career, which by the way looks like is not....Trout, (who most of his detractors in this tread said was gonna school the ginger boy) Mayweather, Angulo and now Lara that's a Hell of a good group of fighters there, for someone whose being acuse of ducking the tough fights.

miguel vazquez twice, plus he fought some other good prospects just like he was... canelo is only 23 and you are asking for an ATG resume?

Ironically when it was Broner under the same scrutiny it was "well he's young doe" and "He's only 22 doe"...stop being hypocrites. You can't expect Crawford, russell, canelo and anyone under below 26 to have an insane resume yet.
He has 43 fights bro'. Not 15, not 25, not 30, not 40 but 43!

About time he starts to face some challenges, like in this case Lara.
