It's matter of marketing. Weren't ppl complaining that "Mayweather style is boring?". That is the same **** excuse that has put on Rigo. It's bull.

Why would you spend money and resources for the hard way when the easy way is already there.

No, they can't. And I have no clue why you would even be curious of this.
I don't understand the bold. Canelo is a star and has been for some time now. He's about as easy to promote as they come. I've seen that kid in a couple of big TV commercials. Want to know the last time I remember seeing that? Mike Tyson, late eighties.

I don't even consider that Pacquiao cognac commercial big, although you rarely ever see a boxer in any kind of television ad.

For starters -- and this is just my opinion -- Mayweather has the advantage of being seemingly unbeatable. His mastery of boxing seems evident even to the uninitiated. He doesn't get hit flush very often; he doesn't get knocked down; and he doesn't lose. Floyd is much more enjoyable to watch than Lara. My opinion, but I'm far from alone in this sentiment. And, of course, there's the language thing. It's not bull. The casual fan, the lifeblood of the sport, can't relate to guys like Lara or Rigo.

You can't make stars that requires intangibles you have to be born with.

YEah. Canelo is most def a BIG star in Mexico. Given the current large demography of Mexican Americans, he is HUGE. Maybe not Mike TYson huge.

I mean Mikey TYson probably can do 3-4 million PPV in his peak now.
And that is LOW on the estimate. A heavyweight with a KO/Offensive capability like that.....

Star power is overrated anyways. There only fighters that can do 500k on any given night are Mayweather and Pac. Then you have your next tier of stars: Canelo, Chavez Jr., Cotto and Marquez. They can do 250-400K PPVs with good opponents.

As long as you hold titles, get TV dates and have a promoter and/or manager that can get you fights you are in good shape. Lara's ceiling is a career along the lines of a Tim Bradley in terms of marketability/drawing power.

I definitely get what you saying. But specifically for Rigo...they can make him a star. Careful matching making helps. GOod point with the language but just do what Broner do. Talk some ****. That is always good promo especially you can back up it with win.
