  • Was there ever an investigation on Maidana's first glove pair with no padding?

The first pair of gloves team Maidana intended to use in the Mayweather fight were DECLINED by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. They seemingly had the majority of the padding ripped out. This is grounds for an investigation in my opinion, but was one ever conducted? Serious consequences could have been met if team Maidana did intend to use gloves with no padding in them. Have they done something like this before?

I've always viewed the NSAC as the strictest and most consistent agency in regards to other athletic commissions but if there was no investigation done on the gloves that were declined by them, that's cause for concern. Hopefully they at least confiscated the gloves for inspection.

No you imbecile, the gloves were creased and affected because they were being passed around and tried on by many people and by the time they were inspected they were deemed not safe for use.

Floyd should've stopped complaining and let Maidana use the approved red pair of the Everlast MX.

Look man Team Mayweather knew what it was and still know now, Anytime your corner tells to to fight dirty then you should not trust them at all....but after this post i am gone because i know how this thread will turn out

Yep because if you try on gloves to many times they are no good.....

They were being passed around because people wanted to see for themselves why that pair had so little padding. They were deemed not safe to use because someone took out the padding.

There was nothing wrong with the pair of gloves besides being out of the packaging and touched by multiple people...A clone pair was aproved but TRC refused to step into that ring unless his opponent was wearing pillows..

Why cater to a guy who just tried to cheat in one of the most inexplicable ways possible? You do the opposite, you punish them.

They just don't seem to understand do they? I find it very fishy that Ariza was fired not too long after this incident. I wonder if the two are related in any way. Regardless, team Maidana tried to cheat and got punished for it. Deserved every bit of it.
