Seems like Geale is going to go in there with the same attitude Cleverly had against Kovalev, beat the guy at his own game. Daniel says he throws a lot of punches, which he does, but if he goes with that norm is he really going to try and keep up the volume once he's felt Golovkin's power or will he suddenly go gun shy. Probably the latter. I'm all for Geale's idea of being positive, but not head on. Could be that nothing he does will work anyway, but I'd like to see him move laterally and step in with body shots and the uppercut. GGG crippled Macklin downstairs but maybe he wouldn't cope too well with that himself. Anyway, good luck Dan. We all want to see Golovkin given a proper fight and if you're the one to do it, fair dinkum.

Like who? At MW Geale's about as good as it gets.
Part of the problem for GGG is that there's isn't a MW 'star' for him to fight - Maravilla was the closest thing there was.Comment

Quillin of course, maybe even Danny Jacobs if he wins his next fight
Yup, the division is crap right now, but I wouldn’t mind Chavez, Quillin, or even Cotto, but he might be too small
Sure is unfortunately, the middleweight division is crap.Comment

Quillin and Jacobs need to fight each other first before fighting GGG. Nothing they have done indicates that they are on his level. Of course you can say we don't know what level Golovkin is on because his resume is less than stellar. But the consensus is that even though he isn't lineal, Gennady is considered to be the #1 MW now that Sergio has been dethroned. I would still like to see GGG utterly destroy Quillin though.Comment

Agree with this standing in the pocket and trading with Golovkin is suicide. He needs to use movement and make GGG miss and try to use in and out movement to land some flurrys. His workrate and stamina to finish strong in the later rounds is the key to winning. Wearing shots in the early rounds is not the way to beat GGG. He will get stopped and if by some miracle he doesn't he will be sluggish in the later rounds and lose a lopsided decision taking unnecessary punishment.Comment
