i really dont care much about the article, i just see al haymon wanting to have a promotional company with shaeffer.
what stands out to me is al haymon has so many fighters, can he really give them fights- all of them. he signed those fighters and uses the contract as commodity/ leverage to whatever he is planning.
haymon presently not working with hbo- can he deliver those tv dates that he used to dangle to boxing managers.
how secure is haymons relationship with espinoza? will that relationship continue when mayweather retires?
is gbp really in a hole? is this due to shaeffer/ haymons maneuverings?
i think haymon will have his promotional company- but it cant rival toprank unless haymon work with either gbp or toprank.
dela hoya is maneuvering towards arum and he tries to prevent/delay haymon/ shaeffer promotional company from being establish. unless haymon assures that haymons will work with gbp
is haymon not really wanting a promotional company, he signed so many fighters just for the sole reason of just getting a cut when he sold those fighters to promoters.( a low risk business model) just like how a talent manager earns?Last edited by luisivich; 07-07-2014, 09:02 PM.

This article reminds me of the scene in Scarface where Sosa shows Tony that news report that exposes himself. Sosa has a smirk on his face - a combination of self glorification and concern. That's Haymon in this article. It depicts Haymon as a manipulative genius, a genius nevertheless. That's the same smirk on Haymon's face.

I am starting to think that he wants to run boxing like the Fertitta Brothers and Dana White Runs the UFC. It is like a Governing Body over boxing is being put in place and to do it I guess he figures to go above the promoters and sign up the talent because the Promoters and Boxing in general is nothing without the TALENT!
I doesn't matter what the "FANS" think about Haymon, it is all about what the fighters think because that is who he is their for, NOT THE FANS. Seeing how they all seem to be jumping to him, he must be doing a great job getting fighters what they want.
Why do people think the UFC is a good model? Those guys get ripped off worse than boxers ever have, with their main event making 250k... Yea that's what happens where this no competition, the people in charge get even more greedy. Also, I love boxing but I'll never pay for a subscription featuring ONLY boxing, HBO already has top notch production Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and boxing. Add my showtime subscription to that and what will I get with Haymon boxing? $10 for 1 card a month? The guy has A LOT of boxers signed yes, but how many are in the same division? When was the last time you saw 2 Haymon guys fight? The dood has been in boxing since 2000 and the only example of Haymon guys fighting each other a whopping 3. In 14 years dood has had 3 of his guys face each other, oh yea this is great for boxing.

If people don't watch, then advertising aren't paying to show their commercials and signs to no one.

Just thank Al Haymon for all the rewards you've reaped and forget about it.
This guy, unlike Don King doesn't seem to have a reputation of short changing his fighters since they keep thanking him and all.
If fighters start complaining about him, then it might become a problem. Otherwise I don't care whether some promoter or network has a problem with him.

Are you sure about that? Because I'm pretty sure we've seen more than that in just 14 days.
Let's go over some recent fights, shall we?
Mayweather-Maidana
Khan-Collazo
Paulie-Shawn Porter
Hopkins (yes, he works with Haymon)-Shumenov
That's just two cards over a period of two weeks.
Then of course you have:
Trout-Lara
Bika-Dirrell
Matthyse-Molina
Here are some other fights on the he horizon involving two Haymon fighters squaring off:
Mayweather-Maidana 2
Hopkins-Stevenson
Broner-Lopez
And there are several more currently being negotiated.
These are just the facts. Now does the fact that you're wrong make me a Haymon nuthugger?
Or could it be that you're just a tad bit biased, or -- dare I say? -- perhaps *gasp* a player hater?
Be that as it may, the facts are the facts.
