Yeah but I'm still a fan. If he never rematches Gonzalez then of course that will lessen my admiration for his craft but I'm waiting to see how he returns. Truth of the matter is he got knocked the heck out in one round... not only did Jhonny take his "0" but his heart along with it. Now he needs to build up again. If it would have been a UD by Gonzalez or a KO in the distance I would have wanted the immediate rematch too, but Gonzalez sees where Mares is standing at and a 1st round KO to completely get him back down to square one is hard for any fighter. He lost his "0", he lost his belt, lost his ranking, and got KO'd in one and was damn near in tears telling his daughters who were watching back home he was alright lol. Anyway call him a duck, bum, hype job or b1tch made it's all good. At the end of the day I'm still a fan of his and this beautiful sport is for everyone.. so another fan's view is respected from my behalf, unless you are talking **** on my homey Rom Sankla... then it's WAR!Comment

have mares vs. gradovich, he probably wins that fight and wins IBF title... against weakest champ but it would be a huge unification w/ either donaire or loma....
mares vs. donaire is 50/50, while loma sinks mares and TKOs himComment

How about fighting the Golden Boy boxer who already beat you at the weight or does that make too much sense Abner?Comment

You are way more forgiving then I was.I was like Ok rib injury I figured no problem he will heal up recover, and take care of business WRONG now it even seems like the injury was b/s to be honest, and if he didn't want the fight it would have been all good then say that to begin with, fight someone else get your **** together, but he definitely led everyone to believe he wanted that immediate rematch I figured it was happening after he healed, and then nada kinda like he regretted ever saying he wanted the immediate rematch and wanted to b/s his way into another course of action.Yeah but I'm still a fan. Almost a year after it's all been song, and dance he has Gonzales calling him a coward and ****. I was not expecting Mares to go the way he did at all cannot defend it, I had to bump him off my favorite list not for loosing, but for that weird ****ty course taken after the loss .Comment

Mares vs Gonzalez and Lomachenko vs Gradovich would be more profitable for all boxers involved due to the Mexican and Ukrainian/Russian dynamics Mares ducking Gonzalez doesn't change that and shouldn't be accommodated.Last edited by Mikhnienko; 07-06-2014, 08:28 AM.Comment
