Garcia vs Salka - Worst 140 title fight in history (on paper)?

although i think salka could cause garcia some problems with his style if he ups his game a little, on paper is garcia vs salka one of the worst title fights ever to occur in the 140lb division - in terms of the how worthy the opponent is to fight the champ..

i do give salka a shot but he hasn't proven himself against even another top tier contender as yet which is what makes the fight so bad - on paper at least...

what yall think - worst 140 title fight in history or are there other fights that were this bad before (on paper)..

    Go Salka!!
im with you all the way to pull off the upset bro..

I don't know enough about old school 140 title fights to say for sure, but while this is one of the worst in the modern era, I'm sure back in the mafia days there were some real duds.

I'm not an expert on inept title fights but it has to be in the discussion. Has to be. Think about it.

The SEVENTY-SEVENTH rated LW could conceivably be a belt holder at 140. It's amazing. It's like the University of Wyoming getting a spot in the BCS title game with a 4-9 record.

In the history of boxing I cant say yes without some doubts but in recent history I will absolutely say yes.

This is a farce of a fight and outright appalling, I wish the the sanctioning bodies will strip him of his belt but we all know that is not going to happen to much politics in boxing. I love the sport but sometime its hard to defend, situation like this is just SMH status.

Definitely NOT the worst in overall weight classes...in fact, RS CAN box a bit.

The worst title fight in recent times was Canelo against Matt Hatton at a rewritten last minute catchweight contract for a belt...and I am a fan of Canelo, but I have to call it like I see it.

That's a bit harsh...I'm not a fan of this fight, but Rod Salka can box. He's not an elite, but I have definitely seen worst title fights. Hell, you can sum up most of Vitali's recent fights before he retired as being a big joke.

I am assuming that Garcia will fight Lamont Peterson after this fight, but honestly-both Lamont and Danny are at the stages in their careers where they don't really need a tune up to face one another....it just seems more like a time waste or filler fight than anything else.
