This, sadly, is a much more realistic scenario than Broner-Lucas.

That awkwardness does work in his favour though.

It's hard to read and time Maidana.

I agree, but I think Matthysse's shots might stop Broner where Maidana's didn't because of that. On the other hand Matthysse might not dominate like Maidana did, in fact at this point it's disrespectful to Maidana to say Matthysse would.

        Hopefully the fight happens.

Would be great but I highly doubt Broner gets in the ring with another hard hitter from Argentina anytime soon.

At best, we would be lucky to see Broner-Molina (who just dropped a scorching hot diss track that's climbing up the billboard charts) and at worse we'll see him in with a Rod Salsa type fighter.

Matthysse is definitely more crisp and shorter and sharper with his shots, possibly hits slightly harder aswell.

But he doesn't have the size of Maidana nor the awkwardness, so it would be interesting.

I think Matthysse will hit him and hurt him but I don't see him having the success rate Maidana did because I don't think he'll be able to overwhelm him like Maidana did.

              I'd pick Matthysse though definitely.

That is a scary thought, but it might be right.

Broner doesn't seem passionate enough to learn the craft but he does possess the tools to beat Matthysse. Matthysse exposes himself to counters, squares up too much. Also, Mattysse doesn't neutralize his opponent's offense the way Maidana does so it's an entirely different fight somewhat. Maidana isn't always on the receiving end of counters while Matthysse always is.

Broner doesn't move, lacks footwork and head movement....I expect Matthysse to catch him. They need to stack the undercard to sell this rematch.
