Former four divison world champion Juan Manuel Marquez feels Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (43-1-1, 32KOs) has a very tough fight ahead of him as he prepares to face WBA 'regular' junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12KOs) on July 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Lara is a fast, well schooled boxer. And Canelo is one fight removed from losing a wide decision to another well schooled boxer, Floyd Mayweather Jr. last September at the same venue.

I agree, lara is gonna give canelo problems through out the fight, but lara has never fought anyone that put combinations together like canelo.. that said i think canelo is gonna stop him late somewhere between the 10-12 round!

At least these 2 fighters are daring to be great, and that should make for a great night of boxing. I cant wait!

Canelo has fought one of the slickest boxers in the game in Floyd Mayweather and he is about to fight another one. You saw the result when Canelo fought Floyd and I expect something similar. I see Lara out boxing Canleo the same way he outboxed Trout. Trout barely touched Lara and Trout has a longer reach compared to Canelo and isn't flat footed like Canelo.

Canelo does have great combinations.... But only when the target is stationary. Where were these powerful combinations against mayweather, or even trout. Both of which are pure boxers as is Lara. Canelo has to have his feet planted!!! He has trouble with pure boxers. I see him getting countered all night eating straight lefts!

I here you but lara really wanted this fight and i feel lara is going to fight out of his comfort zone. i think he is going to step up to the plate and try to outfight canelo which is going to give canelo chances to get off his combos.... lara will follow the gameplan for a few rounds then all hell is going to break loose... im riding with canelo but understand the danger lara posseses..its a hell of a fight and if lara wins all credit to him and his fans on nsb but if he loses i expect the same from laras fans...no excuses!

That dont mean nothing though,, this is a different fight. One mistake is all it takes in this sport.
