According to promoter Luis De Cubas, IBF junior middleweight champion Carlos 'King' Molina will defend his belt against mandatory challenger Cornelius "K9" Brundage on the 6th of September in Cancun, Mexico.
Molina (22-5-2, 6 KO) has not fought since last September, when he won the world title from Ishe Smith in Las Vegas. He was set to face Jermall Charlo in March, but the fight was canceled after Molina was arrested a few days before the fight, over an outstanding warrant, and later deported back to Mexico over a visa issue. Brundage (33-5, 19 KO) is coming off a January final eliminator win over Joey Hernandez
