Former LWW champ Cotto beats an older, shop-worn, injured Martinez, and suddenly he's the new badass MW on the block? If he beats a top, healthy, young MW, I'll buy it. But right now, I just don't.

If I'm Cotto, no way do I take this fight before a bout with Canelo, or a rematch with Floyd. If you lose to GGG, or worse get injured, there goes the big dollars. I would get the money fight first (Canelo or Floyd), then GGG in NY or PR and retire. GGG would fight Cotto coming off a loss, but Canelo and Floyd probably won't.

.i dunno...i think cotto has a better chance to beat ggg than canelo or mayweather..ggg has fought weak opposition.i can't really guage ggg because his opponents haven't offered anything top-tier.any guy,of the three cotto fights could be his last.

Don't be too sure. I can see Floyd fighting Cotto at the same weights Cotto asked for against Martinez...159. That way the Jr. MW and MW belts would be on the line. I also have a feeling (and heard rumors) that this fight is going to take place in NYC @ Barclay's in Brooklyn. That would be HUGE!!!

I can't. The heaviest Mayweather has fought at is 151 in his first fight against Cotto. He had trouble making 150 on fight day with Canelo, after weighing 150.5 @ the weigh-in the day before. No way he fights @ 159 for a MW title.

Golovkin brings absolutely nothing to the table for Cotto to fight him. Cotto get his money even fighting the Rodriguez's of boxing, and he already is the lineal MW champion, so fighting Golovkin doesn't make any sense. Cotto will fight Floyd and/or Canelo and will call it a day. Maybe a fight at 168 just to try and make history.

Cotto will fight him at 155, Cotto's heavist weigh in was at that weight. Hell they can agree to 160 neither will go past 155.

I was thinking the same thing. Cotto is always the one to fight " the most feared", " the guy who wants random drug testing", " the cherry picker", " the guy who wants a catchweight","the cheater",hats off to the fighter who really entertains us.
