I can only look at this as the commissions considered and realized that allowing the champion or A-side fighter to dictate on the gloves as unfair....

Its possible. Problem is, Tarver was a master boxer who was technically superior to Roy. And had the ability and boxing IQ to take advantage of the multiple technical errors Roy has always made and gotten away with. Much of Maidana's "success" was due to stuff that could easily be eliminated by a referee. I doubt very seriously that he'll be able to get away with as much of the rough stuff as he did in the first fight. And I'm sorry. Maidana without the rough house tactics is basically a sitting duck for Floyd to play target practice with. Very similar to how Joe Cortez turned Ricky Hatton into a human punching bad. That's the problem with a guy like Maidana. He's very dependant on having a ref that allows him to push the limits of the rules.

I've been watching Mayweather fight for years and for years people continue to make so many excuses about reason why Floyd wins. Maidana tried to cheat so it was warranted that he not use his other pair. He made the bad decision to try and pull a fast one. Gloves or no gloves Floyd was there for Maidana and he still lost.

Maidana tried to cheat with the first pair so he made his bed. I have no sympathy for cheaters. Mayweather made him wear another pair, so what? Dude deserved to be penalized.
