I'm a big fan of Boxing Scene, but their headlines really really bug me.

I'm not sure how they think it's moral to use some of the headlines were they are attributing things to boxers they didn't say.

How did Canelo's actual quote get turned into "I Want May 2, September 12!"

With an exclamation mark and everything. Every time I see them use an exclamation mark in the headline when conveniently paraphrasing something a boxer said into an compelling headline, I think to myself "they didn't actually raise their voice."

These are people's reputations we're talking about. They shouldn't morally care more about making headlines that get clicks over truth.

I disagree. If Showtime were to choose they would choose Canelo due to the fact that they won't have to pay him a $30 million plus guarantee. Look at the numbers Floyd has done the last two Cinco de drinko's with Ghost and Maidana. Both fights lost money for the network. You think Showtime wants to sign up for that when the prospect of putting Canelo in with Cotto on the biggest mexican fight date is there.
And if Floyd wants Pac then Showtime would be getting into a bidding war with HBO that they can't win.

Lol good post. I can imagine Lara saying something like, "I will beat Canelo but it will be a tough fight." in spanish and then it metamorphose into "I will kill the red headed bum! He is nothing and this fight will be so easy I can do it with my left hand tied behind my back", courtesy of DeCubas Jr's silly interpretation.
