The who are you cheering for poll was a dead tie between Kovalev and Hopkins but only 39% are picking him to win here.

just because people are fans of a fighter, doesn't mean they should be deluded

Kovalev being ducked by Team Hopkins last summer is very unfortunate for Hopkins. He is going to feel the full wrath of Krusher on November 8th. The thing that sucks for Hop is that he can't even outbox Kovalev. Kovalev is the better boxer as well. Expect him to look for a way out as early as the first round, as soon as he realizes he's never fought a fighter similar to Kovalev before.

Sergey Kovalev is better then any boxer Hopkins has ever faced before. Now THAT'S saying something.

Well Said. He's got it all over Nard. Nard finally made a very poor matchmaking/managerial error. He's usually stellar in that regard. He's got big problems in this fight. Kovalev can win either by decision or KO but I lean KO. And there is the chance Hopkins will feign a foul. Keep eyes wide open for that. BigCon over 11/8.

Hopkins is the master trickster but this is almost certainly a job too far. Bernard can frustrate Kovalev by grabbing and spoiling and otherwise making him hit mostly air for a while but I don't think his own punches will deter the Russian and some of Krusher's leather is going to get through. Kovalev is not a mindless slugger. He has freak power and is well versed in the art of delivering it. Hopkins is, of course, a freak athlete to be contending at title level at his advanced age but he IS an old man. If B-Hop can pull it off it will in my book rank right up there with ring history's greatest deeds. Much more likely, though, that the veteran finds himself getting hurt and I see his corner calling enough by the 6th, if it goes that long.
