"Alien" Hopkins vs "Krusher" Kovalev Post fight Discussion thread

If Hopkins beats Kovalev then Stevenson he will eclipse Floyd and Manny. But unfortunately he is going to get knocked out.

If this fight turns out different than the cure for insomnia that I'm sure it will be, it will NOT be because of Hopkins. If he can pose for 12 round and throw a punch once or twice, he'll be perfectly content to do it. It all falls on KOVALEV. If Hopkins lulls him to sleep like he did Cloud and Shumenov, this could be a very dull fight.

ONE thing that could possibly make this an exciting fight is the fact that Kovalev is Kathy Duva's meal ticket. She didn't get him this fight on HBO so he can put everyone to sleep . She has surely informed him that he has to throw punches instead of looking at Hopkins.

Bernard is at the age where he could suddenly age over night. He's already shown signs of losing his balance. Short of that happening though, he has a very good chance of outpointing Kovalev and making him look silly.

Can't see how Hopkins can win. He needs to stay out of trouble the first few rounds and try to frustrate Kovalev while keeping it close. Hopefully take it late in the fight but Hopkins is 15 years beyond his best fighting days, not sure it is possible.
