yes he was ordered to fight his mandatory and kovalev was his mandatory when showtime turned down the fight. so they turned it down because they were scared of hopkins losing and not getting action on kovalev. seems like the definition of ducking...i'm sure they had exclusive rights on murat lol.

Yes, Hopkins is beatable, he even states he knows Kovalev CAN knock him out, but I dont get whats so hard for you to understand? Why would showtime approve the fight knowing HBO has already invested in Kovalev, Showtime cant control his next fight, its just not prudent, why would they do that? It doesnt make sense buisness wise, and they both went their seperate ways, Kovalev never complained and accused Hopkins of ducking, he complained about Stevenson because HBO invested in Kovalev with the idea that they would showcase both Adonis and Kovalev in 3 fights then have them unifed and Stevenson didnt comply, if you cant grasp any of this just dont respond lol.

Kovalev was named the mandatory when Murat had visa issues and the fight was canceled. Murat was then able to get his visa issues resolved and was once again named the mandatory... anything else?

Read my post, The reason Showtime didnt approve the fight is because Showtime has NO exclusive rights to Kovalev fights, HBO owned rights to Kovalev's next 3 fights so if Hopkins lost, he would go to cash in on that success on HBO instead of Showtime, anyway you slice it thats a smart move by the network. Either way, Duva decided to go with Clevelry because she feared that Hopkins would just run off and sign off to fight Cleverly first, and Kovalev would be left without a dance partner, so they hurried and signed to fight Cleverly... noone ducked anyone, if people paid attention you would know all of this is simple to understand.

This all happened before Kovalrv ever even fought on HBO or had a contract with them.

Kovalev fought Cleverly because Showtime/Schafer publically rejected the fight and what would be next? Bernard vacating. Kathy Duva clearly said Kovalev had no interest in fighting for a vacant belt

And on top of all of this.... Hopkins himself told Kovalev to fight Clevely, so he can fight Adonis and then they can have a mega fight "super unification" between the winners.

Bernard told him to fight Cleverly so the last line in this article is bologna.

What is there to be happy about? When it comes to facing Kovalev, I think people are just at the point where they will believe it when they see it. And Hop is saying nothing he hasn't said before....

Hopkins told him to fight Cleverly and get a world title, yes you are right.. no indications of ducking from either party, and Kovalev's team had no problem with this. Either way it doesnt matter now and you can nitpick all you want, the fight is closer to being made than its ever been, much bigger fight than it would have been before and thats all that matters now. Hop[kins obvs showed he meant that statement because after Stevenson ducked Kovalev, and Hopkins himself is having issues securing a fight with Stevenson, he said whatever lets fight eachother first then. Im just happy it might happen. Have a good night folks.
