Comments Thread For: Lucas Browne-Andriy Rudenko is Set For August 1

Lucas "Big Daddy" Browne will take on unbeaten Ukrainian puncher Andriy Rudenko at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, England on August 1.

The heavyweight pair will contest the vacant WBA Inter-Continental title as well as Browne's WBC EPBC crown.

Rudenko is arguably Browne's toughest test to date. Promoted by the Klitschko brothers' K2 Ukraine, the 30-year-old from Dnipropetrovsk has halted 16 of his 24 opponents and will be looking to score a major scalp.

I thought it was that guy who fought Bryant Jennings about a year back at first, was gonna say he destroys Browne. No idea who Rudenko is though, sounds like a tennis player.

Browne has a big punch but awful technique.I expect Rudenko to fold around the third round once he starts to take rounds and Browne realises he needs to rely on his power to win as he has nothing else going for him.

Sub level fight,a fringe contender facing a D level opponent.I find it difficult to become excited over this one.

I would like to see Browne face a tougher opponent than this,ie a Chisora level, opponent say Dimitrenko,Hammer,Ustinov or Brian Minto

I was scratching for names and thought of Wach too, when is he due back from ban or has it been lifted already ? I know the guy is sparring Del Chisora and wasn't he penciled in to fight Jennings before Perez was confirmed ? I guess the ban is lifted then.

Rudenko is a small HW but the last 11 of his 12W's have came via KO/TKO and from what i've seen on youtube he takes a good smack, Browne may finally have his first live opponent.

Anyway both have horrible technique but carry fight ending power Still favour big Lucas in this though, more proven of the two.

LOL, These four are not on Chisora Level, i think Rudenko beats all 4 of them.
Browne vs. Rudenko is a good fight!

rudenko will be stepping up in class not browne. we will see if he is a pretender or someone to keep an eye on. browne is a lance whitaker clone so he can be hit & is slow as a turtle. let's see if rudenko can take a big HW punch...
