With Gennady At Middleweight I'd Stay At Junior Too As Cotto Will Find Out

I would love to see Canelo fight Gennady! But now that he's staying at '54 you can see he's hoping to gravy train paydays off the Welterweight division, as the larger fighter. He and Gennady standing in the middle of the ring trading bombs would be a great night of Boxing. But Gennady would beat Canelo, Cotto, and even Chavez Jr to quit.

Don't remember Roach saying anthing like that.

Saying he doesn't want to fight at MW sends a pretty clear message doesn't it?

Lol at him trying to make 154 the rest of his career. I guess he's planning on an early retirement.

"Alvarez could be a fight for us. I'm not sure [if that's going to be the fight], it depends on what comes next. Alvarez is a big name out there, but he's got a big fight coming up with Lara. If he wins, that could be a fight for us at 154. Some people are mentioning Triple G, but I don't know [if we're staying at 160]

How on earth will he be able to stay at 154 his entire career? While he's still young he can but unless he plans on retiring in the next few years, no way he'll be able to make 154. I suppose he will be able to afford an early retirement since he is one of the biggest stars in boxing today and huge in Mexico too. There's no use in staying in boxing for long if you have wealth and health.

His career probably won't last long, if that's the case. He's not gonna be able to keep making 154 without any consequences. It's not like his stamina is fantastic either.

Gennady would turn Canelo into a good boy, Canelos in a tough spot.
Golovkin is much older than Canelo by nine years so Canelo can afford to wait. People forget just how old Golovkin really is because he looks like he could be in his 20s.

Eventually, he will have to move up to 160 no matter what he thinks. His body won't allow him to stay at 154 his whole career.
I agree. The older his body gets, the harder will be 154.
