Canelo will eventually be at 160. I think that is clear but I'm not sure if he struggles badly to make 154. It's quite common for fighters to request an extra pound in nontitle fights. Alexander/Karass is one recent example.
The Angulo fight does suggest that he at least struggles somewhat though. It was a last minute change to add the extra pound. No one would pay 100,000 if they didn't have to.Comment

It's just one pound, and he's still a young fighter who hasn't hit his prime yet. At least he's fighting good opponents. Give the kid a break. He may as well lose his next fight, which he has a huge chance of doing so all this talk, whining and complaining could be for nothing.Comment

Golovkin is fighting Geale who's a former world champion, but I guess it's ok for Canelo to not make weight because he has red hair doeComment

Next fight - at MW
Canelo - Nah, I'm never going be a MW
Next fight - at MW again
Fans - It's okay it's only one pound and he is young...
Me - Exactly he is a whiny, entitled b*tch so we agree.Comment

come on, he has a almost gimme belt in the Quillin fight when he moves up. I think he can beat most of the top contenders, Golovkin is the only one that would anihilate him. He would be very competitive with anyone else.Comment

um, you're already a middleweight, bro. 155 is middleweight.
your last two fights were at middleweight, and you looked like a freaking ghost when you weighed in at 152 for mayweather.Comment

I understand incredibly. But what I'm saying is people are making too big a deal about it because (1) it's only 1 tiny pound and his opponents are not *****ing about it (2) he's taking on good, worthy opponents and (3) he's still super young, learning and hasn't hit his prime yet!Comment
