Maidana fought a great fight last time and had a great game plan. It wasn't just mindless aggression he truly knew Mayweather's habits as you said. Even in the middle of the ring Floyd was hesitant to overcommit. Had he been able to sustain his energy and finished strong he could've pulled out the win.

I'm picking Maidan to pull off the victory this time and knock him down in the process.

I saw much of the same. People disrespect Maidana by calling him a midless brawler but he has the ability to set traps, counter, and control his opponent with feints and a good jab.

      • I got to the 17th page and couldn't continue because Loaded was giving me a headache with his flawed logic.

I don't understand how you think all indications point to Maidana winning the rematch when he fought his best fight the first time around and lost. You literally predicted Maidana by KO based on how you thought the fight would play out, he fought the exact fight that you predicted him to and he still lost.

You aren't off base to suggest Maidana can win the rematch but you keep using the first fight as an indicator to how he will win the second fight when all he did in the first fight was lay a blueprint on how to lose. It's the same logic with Oscar saying he "created the blueprint on how to beat Mayweather" when he never actually beat Mayweather. He may have had mild success but ultimately a loss is a loss and Maidana was not successful in WINNING the fight.

The only way the first fight is an indicator that he will win is if you think Mayweather will be significantly worse. Either that or you think Maidana will adjust far better than Mayweather will the second time around which I disagree with.

One thing is certain from the first fight that you are choosing to ignore however: Mayweather fought Maidana's fight and DECISIVELY won a close fight. He even came back to very clearly win the late rounds of the fight. There is nothing to indicate that Mayweather is in serious danger of losing by fighting Maidana's fight while we know that if Mayweather were to move around the ring and box from distance he can present Maidana with a whole new set of problems.

Someone posted a great video in the Master Thread of their first fight where all this was evident. Throwing double or triple jabs at times in order to back Floyd against the ropes.

              • Maidana will at the very least make it a hard competitive close fight again. (ignore the ****ty 9-3 scorecard) Floyd did not fight Chino's fight, he actually hates getting hit, it was unlike Canelo, an opponent who actually was aggressive and used the best tools he had for the fight.

Maidana made him fight that fight at times, Floyd's at an age where he prefers the kind of fight he got in RG and Canelo (where its slow and he controls the offense) but Maidana as proven in the first won't allow for an easy night, Floyd needs to be at his fastest, sharpest and best to make it an easy nights work, he might very well win again but won't be easy.

I'm looking forward to it, Maidana has to use more uppercuts up close and throw more lefts, as his Manager said, Chino got too right hand happy after 4 or 5 rounds. Garcia hopefully will be asking for more jabs and slightly improving the speed. I think Chino needs a KD to have a chance, probably needs a KO if i'm being honest unless he has a Broner like performance with 2 or 3 KD's.

Remember Maidana did as well as he did in the first and still an idiotic judge had it 9-3 to Floyd ha.

                    • What if Floyd comes in heavy? there might be a 154lb weight limit for this fight.
