Sure. Why not? Gamboa has the basic fundamentals of boxing defense all wrong. It was frustrating to see him get caught by the same Crawford right hook as he leaped in with his left at his hip.

Not saying that Roach can turn Gamboa into a philly-shell, shoulder rolling type of fighter but he would have a great shot at correcting Gamboa's horrible defense while maintaining the explosive offense.

Peter Diaz is not a bad trainer. I'd still go with Roach, Gamboa would get more exposure simply by being at the Wild Card as well.

I almost said yeah. But really he shouldn't Gamboa needs to learn defense and not offense. His offense is fine but he seems to get out of control with it. Roach is more of an offensive trainer.

I voted yes. Roach is a great trainer but of course Gamboa has to ask him first and the language barrier would be somewhat of a problem. I think Gamboa should fight at 130 or 126 if he can comfortably make those weights. He chin does not seem that good at lightweight.

Absolutely not .. Roach can't train a fighter like gamboa they way he needs .. Pedro diaz is the man for the job no doubt

That's true, much more talent at Wild Card than any other gym IMO

                  I think so.

Amazing what Pedro Diaz did for Cotto vs Margarito 2 and Mayweather.

Some will argue that Roach could have been a better fit for Miguel.

Freddie Roach should train anyone who is willing to train under him, imo.

Why you ask? Because he's a HOF trainer!

He doesn't need a trainer. All he needs is patience. He was winning most of the first rounds until he got impatient and wanted a KO. You can't teach patience.
