Does boxing alter your facial structure?

Biggest feature changes come from broken noses and orbital bones. I am more worried for boxers the amount of head trauma they receive from the constant blows to the head.
I am probably in the minority on this but in this day and age, until medicine is advanced enough to reverse head trauma damage their should be an age limit in professional boxing.
I also look at it from an economical standpoint, the amount of cost healthcare wise to care for a ex boxer suffering from dementia puglistica can be pretty damn high (considering as a tax payer 8 times out of 10 its gonna come outta my pocket anyways considering the average boxer is horrible with finances).Comment

Of course it can. To be technical it depends on your bone structure, if you take a lot of flush shots, and how dense your face bones are........
Really though the only noticeable features is your nose. Boxers who get cut a lot and eyes swell gets scars and their skin may sag around the eyes. All this is pretty much a given though might of been a more interesting thread if you asked which fighters have the most deformed or altered faces.Comment

I agree with the bold. And speaking of orbital bones, I wonder if Angulo's orbit has always been that pronounced or got like that over the years. And I also agree that boxing should be more regulated and that these commissions need to supervise this stuff more closely.Biggest feature changes come from broken noses and orbital bones. I am more worried for boxers the amount of head trauma they receive from the constant blows to the head.

Well, this is true. I dont expect someone like Mayweather to show any signifcant changes to his face.
That also would be an interesting topic. I also think this would be more interesting if we had studies to back this stuff up. Or explaining how it happens.Of course it can. To be technical it depends on your bone structure, if you take a lot of flush shots, and how dense your face bones are........
