Gamboa would overwhelm him from the opening bell. You guys keep forgetting that not every fighter is Terence Crawford. The guy has a helluva chin.

If Gamboa stays disciplined, he'd school Donaire.
Gamboa ever since he fought that no namer filipino dude on pac's under card and got dropped, he was suspect to me ever since and yesterday sealed it for me. If this fight happens I think donaire catches Gamboa and might even break his jaw. Gamboa is not hard to hit with his ****y hands down weak defense.

I just see visions of Gamboa throwing a combination then getting obliterated by a left hook regardless if hes winning the fight or not

Gamboa doesn't overwhelm anyone so what are u talking about? Gamboa is too shaky, dude gets caught and dropped easily. Jumping in hands down.

Donaire has looked pretty awful since the Rigo schooling.

I also think his power is greatly exaggerated, he's a good puncher in the lower weights but he wouldn't't even have the punch power advantage in there.

He overwhelmed TC, so what are you talking about?

Oh okay, I get it. Now everyone in boxing makes adjustments like TC, and has his chin. I get it now.

If Gamboa were to device a game plan around evading the left hook I see him winning(which isn't likely since he has too much heart to back down in case a brawl explodes). Donaire struggles with fast fighters early on until he begins to time them properly and that's when Gamboa really shines then tends to fade off later in the fight. If Gamboa feints and makes Donaire throw and miss his vicious left hook, I can see Gamboa exploding a powerful combo on Donaire's chin. However, Donaire has one punch K.O. power in that left hand and if he was able to land one on Rigo and even get a KD on such an excellent defensive boxer, I am sure he can catch Gamboa in the mid to late rounds with his counter hook since Gamboa tends to drop his hands. Especially seeing as how Gamboa tends to dive in and expose himself by throwing caution to the wind. Another thing I noticed is that both fighters react the same way when frustrated or hurt, they get a bit impatient and reckless. I think such a fight boils down to who is faster.

Yes, Gamboa dives in a lot, but against TC it was way more evident and obvious because of the reach and height disparity. Donaire isn't the biggest guy.

I know Gamboa shot himself in the foot by leaving Arum and bouncing around in weight.

Personally, if Donaire can convince in future fights at featherweight, I can see this being a hot prospect again at 130lb, with Gamboa obviously having to move down and Donaire up. Maybe a catch weight of 128lb? This is a BIG money fight for both guys.

                    What do yall think?

Why Donaire? Why not Walters, Loma or other feather or jr. lightweight champs? I thought he is a bum per Rigo butt hurt fans? In a while, these fans will come posting that Gamboa will destroy, annihilate, overwhelm, school etc.. him.

Donaire cos this fight was muted a few years back, as recently as '12 actually.

I'm not sure if Donaire has the speed or heart anymore to be willing to engage with Gamboa, so Gamboa would be pretty safe in lunging in imo
