Gamboa should go back down to 130, and wait a year or so till Lomachenko moves up. That would be one hell of a fight..
Gamboa is fine at 135

I don't think Crawford is getting enough credit. Gamboa came out of the blocks well. He showed great quickness, timing and instincts initially, but Crawford was just a little bit behind. I don't agree about Gamboa's vast superiority and it being a matter of one punch turning it all around.
Crawford is a helluva a two fisted versatile fighter. He needed a bit of an introduction to Gamboa to see what he has and adjust. The reach advantage was factor, but I don't think the people knew that Crawford had that dog in him and the punching power.
Great fight and with big exchanges and a decisive finish. That is the type of fight I like. Not of a big fan of the "schooling" that is so often praised on the board. The Mayweather style barely touch someone or hit his gloves and run, then be credited with "schooling" a guy. I am for fireworks. I hope Canelo and Lara is this decisive.Comment

The man is a beast and he was dominating Crawford early I had him up 3-1 or you could argue maybe 4-0 before Crawford turned things around.
With that being said, I do think him going down at least one division to Super Featherweight would help. We seen Gamboa get dropped and the recover quickly, he couldn't recover at 135 nor could he get his legs under him. Also his Cardio wasn't great and having that extra bulk of muscle could be the problem.
But the original plan was to go after Mikey Garcia anyway not Crawford
Would love to see Gamboa vs Justin Fortune, that would be ExplosiveComment

the gamboa that fought terence last night could have beaten anyone at 135lbs.
terence is just a special fighter.
and people saying the guys at 135lbs are too strong/big for for him and should move down to 130 forget that gamboa got dropped hard against farenas, and was dropped plenty of times before that.
gamboa's chin has always been shaky no matter what weight class he's in.
It's a matter of common sense fighting guys your own size or close to it, fighting guys that are to big.
Crawford's skills were a factor but so was size.Comment

And then he didn't get dropped again bcse there wasn't such a significant size advantage he didn't have to take as many risks as he did last night getting closer to the longer/bigger guy he wouldn't have to do that against guys smaller.

While on the subject, I'd love to see them bring Yuri over here next against Ricky Burns.
He would get a decent win and I could be front row at a Gamboa fight...it's a win-winComment

Gamboa could do well at 135, if he was fighting like Floyd or Rigo, with a defensive, "hit don't get hit" style (he did that for 4 rounds) but there's one problem: he likes to fight. He could get away with at 126/130 but not at 135.Comment
