It had to do with both. Crawford is the goods IMO. I just wanted to see how he overcame adversity and he passed that test at least tonight.
No one was saying what? That Gamboa was smaller and has been inactive? No one needs to say it because it's just fact.

Crawford is good but I haven't been overly impressed with either of his last two performances. Gamboa threw that away as much as Crawford won it.

The Gamboa tonight would have beaten a lot of guys at 135.

You don't think Gamboa could beat anyone in the Top 10 at 135???

He probably could beat a lot of them but that's more an indictment on the Lightweight division than anything.

Gamboa looked like a child in there compared to Crawford. He's bulked up far too much. It's only his immense talent that allowed him to be winning the fight and his recklessness that lost him it.

So nothing to do with Crawford's talent, or ability to adjust and time him???

            Ok

Crawford is the man. He adjusted well, recovered well when Gamboa had him hurt in the 9th briefly. He showed all sides IMO.

He can box, he can adjust, he can hurt you. He can recover.
The first time I saw Crawford, I saw things that made me a believer. He's on my squad and I assume he will eventually be on the list of fav boxers for many people. It may take some time but he is the goods and has many, many aspects of his game that makes him elite.

Crawford took advantage of the openings well but come on, what adjustment? Gamboa was winning the fight handily and then got knocked down because he flew in with his chin straight in the air wailing punches like he always does.

I didn't expect Crawford to show that kind of power but the weight "differential" probably helped.

No complaints around until round 4 I'm sure. Gamboa would have beaten any other 135 pound fighter tonight.

He switched southpaw so he could have his power hand up front and counter Gamboa's jab over the top with the right hook that scored him his first knockdown and was landing at will throughout the rest of the fight.

When did he switch southpaw? Wasn't it after the first round? He then lost the next couple of rounds easily. The fight turned after the first knockdown which is when Yuriorkis went "Full Gamboa" for the first time.
