Okay, so when has Mayorga ever respected an opponent leading up to a fight smart guy?

I've read Yorga's pre-fight antics in the past. Everyone knows he's just a B-level fighter trying to sound like an elite. lol!

A professional will simply laugh it off. A privy to a staged brawl will go along with it.

So the Mayorga who told Vernon Forrest he was going to take his mother back to Managua so she could clean up his backyard, and the Mayorga would told Cory Spinks he was going to send him to visit his dead mother are just ploys to sell a fight?

Open your eyes. Mayorga can be outboxed. We've seen it. But other than Tito, he can't be outslugged. He says those things to get under his opponents skin and make them want to trade shots with him. Cory Spinks never bought into it and stuck with his gameplan and it worked. Vernon did not and it ended in a a 3rd TKO and a 12rd UD.

If it was any other fighter, you could make a claim to "just hyping up a promotion", but if you really knew fighters strengths and weaknesses, which you don't, then you would see this a mile away.

People love drama. That's why we have reality TV shows, which are all scripted. Yet people still tune in. They love drama and convince themselves it's real when it clearly is not.

We haven't seen the video so we don't know. That doesn't sound like Oscar to get into a shoving match. But Mayorga, right up his alley.

You need to learn that not everything that happens before a fight is "staged". There is a thing called "headgames". But you have to know boxing to know that.

But my point being is that he DIDNT say it because he meant it.
He said it to rattle Cory Spinks and get him off his game.

Comments usually aren't staged but physical confrontations are. Especially when a guy like DLH is involved. Give me a break. Oscar would never touch a boxer outside a ring. He's not fooling anyone.

Like I said, haven't seen the footage. But I agree, doesn't sound like Oscar.

But do you see where I'm coming from about Mayorga's comments? He says and does **** so that come fight time, the other fighter will want to trade with Mayo instead of box. If you box with Ricardo, the fight is very winnable. If you slug, it's not in your favor.
