  • Errol Spence Jr vs Jesus Soto Karass.....Who wins?

Spence has a great future in the sport of boxing. Last night we saw him beat the crap out of his first step up opponent. I'd like to see him fight Soto Karass next in another step up fight. Maybe they could make it the opener for Golden Boy's September 13th PPV. I know Spence has only been a pro for 2 years but i think he has the skills to beat Soto Karass, it wouldn't be easy but i think Spence needs a fight like this to take him to the next level.

people seem awful impressed with spence. i'm not.

he's athletic enough, but his style doesn't do it for me.

he's on offense or defense. he doesn't counter, throw feints to elicit predictable offense.

at the highest levels, he's just going to look like a worker in there. his defense is very strange. it won't allow him to counter, making him a rather one dimensional fighter.

he's going ot have to show me something, or overhaul his style, to be able to hang with a durable vet like soto karass.

karass will figure spence out. i don't know if he beats him, given his lack of talent and speed, but he'll suppluy a blueprint for somebody down the line.

Dammit, I should have added a 'not sure' option for posts like this.

The "i don't know if he beats him, given his lack of talent and speed" comment tells me that he's not sure who would win. You'd have to ask him what he really meant by that comment.

Who do you think wins this fight, DLT?

He got cracked real good in the 5th round. Took it like a champ, and he was the came forward and started busting up Cruz, to show him he wasn't affected, and to keep Cruz on defense. I can't tell you for certain that he has a great chin, but I like that mentality.

                And I voted Spence.

At this point I would favor Spence to give Karass his 3rd loss in a row. Not sure if he would do better than Devon Alexander tho..

I completely understand that and take nothing away from him however, Cruz has 15KO's against opposition that probably even Paulie Malignaggi could stop, and his only ever real live opponent was against a past his best Kermit Cintron which he lost aswell.

But still I like Spence he has nice technique, he's still young and will improve allot.
