I forgot to add in one of the posts earlier that while Gonzalez has built up a great looking record mostly on less than worthy challengers. He has tried to line up some decent names that fell through. Iola's handlers made it clear they didn't want the fight and I don't think Nietes was interested in a fight with him either. I still would've liked to see Gonzalez against Casimero at 108. But I don't blame Gonzalez for not going after that fight because Casimero has such a ugly style and makes for a high risk low reward situation.

His eyes swell up pretty easily and Gonzalez is a great offensive fighter who may be able to swarm the naturally smaller Yaegashi. But who knows Yaegashi fought Ioka for 8 rounds with both eyes almost completely shut. And I thought Ioka only won that fight by a point.

Gonzalez is a beast but his opposition besides Estrada and Fransico Rodriguez Jr have been terrible mismatches. And Rodriguez is at 105 and is scheduled to face Takayama in another great battle of little men. On the other hand Yaegashi has fought Egale Kyowa, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Porpramook, Ioka, Sosa, and Igrashi in only 23 fights.

I'm just glad this fight is happening it's just too bad the networks are too ****** to show it here in the states. Winner of this fight deserves a serious p4p ranking. Flyweight is the deepest division in boxing right now.
Kind of tough on Roman considering it is the lower weights and can be hard to unify titles he also was with multiple promoters so not sure about his contract requirements if he had to fulfill a certain # of fights but now he's done w/Prodesa so he should have more leeway , factor in these guys don't make that much money so the more they fight the more paychecks they get I'm not going to blame someone for earning until something better comes along.

Ioka wanted none same as Nietes, Yaegashi could of fought him sooner but didn't want to, there were talks of Segura/Viloria but not really sure what happened.

He has basically been avoided but when he has fought his significant fights he's won almost always in impressive fashion. Props to Yaegashi for making this fight should be a thriller.
