Why are people dis*****g a fight that was ended on cuts? (Lewis-Klit)...
Its as simple as this... cuts can cause TKO's. If Vargas-Mosley had gone on, and Vargas had won the last two rounds, he would have won the fight on the judge's scorecards. Yet he didnt, because he was stopped on something that didnt look anything like as bad as the damage Klit sustained in that fight.
Bottom line, Lewis won.Comment

Originally posted by Red_MenaceHonestly, Lewis went in and destroyed Rahman in the rematch. Completely outclassed him. Those punches were perfect and deliberate.
I wouldn't say Rahman's punch in the first fight was lucky, exactly, but Lewis was definitely not taking Rahman seriously. Lewis' worst enemy was himself. Sometimes he took his opponents lightly.
I don't agree about the Vitali fight either. Even though Vitali had Lewis in a lot of trouble, his eye was getting destroyed. He had tons of cuts on his face from getting hammered, and I've heard the tape-cut theory. Either way, his eye would have not stood up and there was no way he was going to continue. He'd have no defense against Lewis' right hand, and that would put him in a world of trouble. Once his eye was cut, Lewis start feeding some nasty rights and uppercuts on him. I just don't think Vitali wins that fight.

Thanks for the reminder!
Everytime I see those cuts that Vitali suffered in his fight with Lennox Lewis, it reminds me of how great a champion Vitali really is and that his heart is immeasurable. How he's so tough that having his face beat to a pulp still isn't enough to put him down. It also reminds me of how he won over the fans from that fight and how they cheered him on, favoring the Ukranian over the Brit.

I am just stating the facts...put Lewis in the W column vs Vitali and Mercer...end of story...every great has those "close call" nights...
Lewis did not own Ray Mercer. The fight could have gone either way but I called it a draw.
And Don't try and act like Lewis "Owned" Mercer....because you've never seen the fight.....You just look at boxrec no more.
