This is worse than that. Besides, just because Matthysse and Guerrero disappointed against guys they were expected to blow out doesn't make those fights any better, and it sure as hell doesn't make this card any better.

It's like Kathy Duva saying the same thing about Kovalev/WTF he's fighting next. I don't care if other fights expected to be mismatches weren't, that's still a mismatch.

Correct. They were still absolutely meaningless fights in the grand scheme of things. It's what Haymon does and Showtime & GBP enable him.

Why didn't they just make Garcia-Peterson, wasting everybody's time with these crap cards.

Peterson got that IBF belt hostage. He got KTFO by Matthyse and decided to make sure he doesn't lose ever again because if he does it's curtains.

Watch we see the purses and we see that Garcia made $1.2 million, Peterson $750k
, the lighting rod guy $10k and the Cuban Figueroa $5k but would be surprising Jacobs $250k and the Australian guy he's fighting a free trip to the states.
